ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — BlackOhm showcased its personnel and equipment tracking, physiological monitoring and situational awareness solutions at the 2026 Ancient City Fire Expo, held Nov. 2-4 across St. Johns, Flagler and Putnam counties in Florida.

The three-day event brought together firefighters, instructors and fire service leaders for educational presentations and hands-on training focused on emergency response, firefighter safety and operational readiness.

The expo opened Nov. 2 with educational presentations and a vendor showcase at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, addressing firefighter staffing challenges, fireground performance, training strategies and water mapping. On Nov. 3-4, firefighters participated in eight-hour hands-on training sessions at locations across Florida’s First Coast. Courses covered engine and truck company operations, search and rescue, forcible entry, rapid intervention and live-fire exercises. Some specialized courses, including forcible entry training, spanned both days, providing 16 hours of practical instruction focused on firefighter safety, operational readiness and emergency response.

BlackOhm representatives Paul Kent and Jim Saso met with firefighters, instructors and leadership from various fire departments to discuss operational requirements and demonstrate personnel and equipment tracking technologies. The meetings also provided opportunities to schedule upcoming product demonstrations, explore potential applications and develop long-term partnerships with fire agencies.

During the 2026 Ancient City Fire Expo, the BlackOhm team visited the Flagler County Fire Rescue Training Grounds in Bunnell to observe live-fire training exercises. The visit provided firsthand insight into the physical demands, hazardous conditions and safety challenges firefighters face during emergency operations.

“Ancient City Fire Expo provides an opportunity to engage directly with firefighters and understand the challenges they face in the field,” Kent said. “Our focus is on delivering technology that strengthens personnel accountability, improves situational awareness and gives incident commanders better information when it matters most.”
