BlackOhm will support the 2026 CrossFit Games with real-time positioning and physiological monitoring technology to further strengthen athlete care and operational awareness. The collaboration is intended to enhance insight into athlete condition in real time, supporting a more comprehensive understanding of athlete response throughout an event.
The CrossFit Games bring together more than 100 elite athletes from around the world to compete in high-intensity events designed to test overall fitness. This year, the event will be held at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, celebrating the competition’s 20th anniversary return to the state.
BlackOhm technology will provide real-time athlete positioning and physiological monitoring, including indicators related to heat strain and other physiological responses to competition demands, during select events. Built on technology used in military training and operational environments, the Alpha physiological monitoring device will provide live location data, physiological insights, and real-time alerts, giving medical and event personnel greater visibility into competitor conditions.
CrossFit Games
The CrossFit Games is an annual summer athletic competition that crowns the “Fittest on Earth.” Athletes face a diverse series of unrevealed workouts testing physical readiness through weightlifting, gymnastics, metabolic conditioning, and outdoor sports like swimming or cycling. Originating in 2007 at a small ranch in Aromas, California, the rapidly growing event has expanded to major venues across the United States, including Carson, California; Madison, Wisconsin; and Fort Worth, Texas.
The multi-stage competitive season begins with the Open, billed as the world’s largest participatory sporting event, before whittling the field down to 30 men, 30 women, and 20 teams for the finals. While thousands enter the qualification process, a select few athletes have historically dominated the Games. The most notable champions in the event’s history include Rich Froning with four wins, Mat Fraser with five wins, and Tia-Clair Toomey with eight individual titles.
