BlackOhm Brings Mission-Ready Personnel Tracking to Fire-Rescue International 2026

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — BlackOhm showcased its real-time personnel tracking and situational awareness technology at Fire-Rescue International 2026. The company connected with fire service leaders, emergency responders and public safety professionals from across the industry.

Hosted by the International Association of Fire Chiefs, Fire-Rescue International took place Aug. 12–14 at the Kansas City Convention Center. The annual conference brings together thousands of fire and emergency service professionals and features hundreds of exhibitors showcasing fire apparatus, equipment, protective gear, drones, communications systems and emerging public-safety technology.

The event featured two focused exhibit-hall days. Attendees had 14 hours to explore technology, meet solution providers and connect with peers. On Thursday, Aug. 13, the exhibit hall was open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A Block Party took place in the hall from 4 to 6 p.m. The networking events gave exhibitors and fire service leaders more time to discuss operational challenges and new technologies.

BlackOhm presented advanced personnel-tracking devices and software that provide real-time location data and operational insights for training and emergency response. The team engaged with fire chiefs and public safety professionals to discuss challenges in high-risk situations, emphasizing the need for better personnel accountability and visibility during operations. These discussions underscored the critical role of reliable technology in helping leaders stay aware of their teams amid rapidly changing conditions.

“Fire service professionals showed strong interest in technologies that have been tested in demanding military environments,” said Joshua Dumond of BlackOhm. “They need tools that improve accountability and give commanders a clearer view of their teams. At BlackOhm, we are ready to provide reliable personnel tracking and operational awareness when it matters most.”

Fire-Rescue International 2026 provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with public safety leaders. BlackOhm looks forward to returning next year and continuing these important industry conversations.
